I just purchased a 1984 FJ60 and need to install a class 3 hitch. I need to install the hitch so that I can use a motorcycle carrier, not a trailer but a carier that attaches to the hitch. It is more or less a big tray that a motorcycle or a scooter rides in on the back of a vehicle. The bike or scooter sites perpendicular to the car or truck or SUV or whatever is doing the carrying. I need at least a class 3 hitch because the tongue weight needs to be able to support 500 pounds. Bike weighs 350 plus 70 lbs for the weight of the carrier. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of set up? I think that the only manufacturer that makes a class 3 hitch for a 1984 Land Cruiser is Quality-S. I found them through Man-a-Fre in California. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me directly. Sam King sambking@...
