Hey I'm new to the forums.

I own a 2007 Rav4 Sport 2wd 4-cyl. I wanted the V6 but couldn't find one in my price range. Now I want to put a cold air intake on it to boost the performance. Has anyone done this? I've only found one company that makes an intake kit for my model but it's not a very well-known company like K&N so it makes me skeptical.

So yeah, any help would be great. Thanks.

I am new here too but one thing I know for sure is that this place has very little activity.
Yours is the first new post I've seen in over a week.
You may want to look eslewhere for a specific answer to your query.

The only thing I can offer is that generally speaking those nice looking polished intake snorkels and low restriction air filters do very little to help a small stock 4 cylinder. They do increase your intake noise so you may like the sound of them. The noise may also lead you to believe you have gained real power but the dyno would show maybe one horse increase on a stock motor and that would only show up at the very upper RPMs. You are far better off trying to find a performance chip. If you have done other motor mods like increasing displacement or valve lift or duration the snorkel will be of greater benefit but on a totally stock motor they pretty much just look good and don't do much else. Despite what you may see advertised.

Thanks for the help, that's really good to know. You just kept me from wasting $200, haha.

My pleasure. Go ahead and buy the K&N filter, though. That one horse boost is totally free because the best reason to buy a K&N is never having to buy another filter.

Again, that rationale is for a stock motor.
