My roomate has a 1987 pu 5 spd with the 22re, we were sitting at a stoplight and he let out the clutch and it died. It has not run since then. We thought it was a fuel issue so we bought and installed a new fuel filter (what a pain!). This did not solve our problem, we checked for spark and it was good and strong. We are completely at a loss as to what this could be. I'm not a toyota guy, i love my jeeps lol but this has all of us at a complete loss. Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, you have spark, but did you ever confirm you have fuel getting to the injectors?

is your truck rusty? that happened to me and turns out after replacing fuel pump and filter that my sending unit was snapped off my gas tank. there are very thin lines that run out of the top. is the clutch still pressurized?
