Hi everyone, i have a 1994 corolla 1.6 16v, now what i am looking to do is put a cone air filter on, but there is one problem...[b]its a carb model! Now fuel injection motors like the twincams are easy enough, but how would one get started on a carb model???

Hello,
I have thought about that too on my corolla and there are limited options about conversion into cone type.
You have to buy an extension tubing with elbow clamp at the end to reciprocate with the carb opening. there should be enough space for the cone air filter to be mounted hanging and horizontally. The cone type cannot be mounted vertically and could hit the hood. At the elbow near the clamp, you should also have a special fitting for the two air hoses that is linked from the carburaetor and the engine cam cover to the base of the original air filter. I have set aside this idea and instead looked for the round shaped with 360 degrees air openings (like a hamburger) or the turtle shaped air filter. There is a good one with the brand name Simota.
