I am in the market for a new (used) car, and although I know I want a Toyota. Are there any Sienna owners out there who want to tell me about how great or how lousy the cars are?

I don't have one myself, but my boyfriend drives one and he highly reccomends it. He's found it very reliable. Personally, I prefer the Camry, but I think the Sienna is probably a good car.

Junkie, I have heard that about the Sienna from a few people, even the pizza delivery lady who praised it high and low when I asked her about it.

Yeah I have heard nothing but good about this one, and I am looking into trading in my Nissan for one, so I am game for all the feedback I get.

Friend of mine has one and wouldn't trade it for anything. I offered a ford van for it but was turned down. Go figure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif)

I wouldnt trade an old, beatup Previa for a Ford minivan (not even if that Ford van were brand-new right off the showroom floor), let alone a Sienna!

I know it was worth a try. I agree I have a previa and wouldn't trade it for a ford van either. I was trying to get rid of the van at the time and was hoping to pry away the Sienna, but no luck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/460.gif)

I have one. Stay away from the 2002 and older... sludgy engine and under a recall.. while Toyota will fix it, the collateral problems have been unfortunate. That being said, the 2003 and newer have a new engine design that solved that problem. I love my Sienna it's safe, nice ride and roomy.

Looks like this might be the one for me too! I have heard nothing but good on this van and it is roomy enough for us although I was wanting to try to get an SUV I guess a mini van may be the solution.

The "new engine" actually went into the 2001 models and up. Uses the VVTI technology to improve horsepower and deliver excellent gas economy. I am still getting a solid 30mpg (9 Litres/100km) on my van with well over 100K and 8 years old. Utterly solid engine, just make sure to keep all the latches, door locks, tail-gate, etc. lubricated as rust is a problem on many of these areas.

I used to have a 2004 Sienna. Not any more.
It's not reliable, bad AC system, low MPG (~16 MPG).

I love mine....bought it brand new in 2005...mine has all the bells and whistles. Very roomy, very comfortable on long trips, very roomy for camping gear! Handles all that I have put it through with a gold star. I researched (safety, comfort, reliability, recall records, owner forums) for several months on various brands and test drove them all before I made my decision and have not regretted it at all. I made my decision with the idea in mind of what would I be happy with 5 - 10 yrs down the road. I keep my vehicles for a long time. Had my last rig 8 years. I feel I made a great decision.
