how do i go about checking the fan clutch?
as for compression, its a stock rg with 44's so how's the compression come into play? you also mentioned bad gasket, which gasket do you mean?
i've pulled out the thermostat and undone the bottom hose and ran water threw the system for like 10 minutes, this is the last time I flushed it out and added the water coolant mix.

I think he meant pressurize the sysytem. You pressurize the cooling sysytem and then check for drop which would indicate leak somewhere. Head gasket leak, could cause foamy coolant. I use Prestone super coolant flush. I bought a '71 Crown that was sitting for over 15 years with water in it. Ran the flush through it about three different times and so far all is well. Of course I haven't been able to drive anywhere because I am rebuilding the front end on it and getting the parts has taken months. However, I keep running it regularly. Flush out your block too.

Checking for clutch fan-while engine is running, use a rag to stop the fan blade, do not injure your fingers, the fan should have a heavy load but if it feels to loose, the fan clutch is diffective, replace it. Engine not running-spin the fan by hand, you should feel a load and again it it spins to freely, it is diffective.
By checking the compression of your cylinder, you can determine if there is a head gasket leak, loose or worn rings and even a bad exhaust valve.
This will produce an internal boil over meaning your are boil off water inside your engine.
Again, flush it through the block, these will clear the water passages in the block. Like radiators, water passages in the block can also get clog and rust due to time.
