Has anyone out there changed a head and could assist me? I'm in the process of changing the cracked head on my 1992 Prado SX5. It was recommended that I upgrade from the L2 to the L3 head. I followed the torque sequence to an initial 58 pounds, then marked the forward head of the bolt with paint and continued with two additional 90 degree torques as spelled out in the manual. Most of the bolts of course got harder to turn as the head rotation increased as you would expect, but 2 or 3 bolts didn't seem to offer much more resistance as they were turned in. So I'm at a stand still worried if I am pulling the threads out of the block or failing the bolts. The term used in the manual is TTY, Torque to yield. Could or should I pull one bolt at a time and have a look? I was tol if I lifted the head I would have to replace the gasket. I used a new set of bolts. Does anyone have some advice? Thank you Har
