I am trying to get more horsepower out of the 5mge in my 83 cressida, and i heard there was a way to modify the airbox. has anybody ever heard of this or done it? any ideas would be helpful.

yes by replacing it with a pod filter.. or cold air intake system. note if you go with a pod filter make sure you add a small heat shield behind it, cant be bothered explaining look it up on the net and you'll see why.

OR you can make your own cold air intake by cutting a hole on the side/bottom of the airbox and fitting it with appropiate sized tubing leading to a place were cold air can easily find it's way into the rube. ive heard of this but it's a cheap mod and silly.. better off getting a legit intake system oh and thats illegal hehe go with the pod filter..

either way your only gonna get minor power gains catch.
