Any of you know what is that? I was going out with my sister and her breaks sound a little when coming to a halt. When I told her she probably should go and change them, she said her mechanich said the breakks were ok, they only had cristalized. I am not a mechanic, I know nothing about cars, but I´ve never heard of such thing. Can anyone here explain please? Thanks!

Thats an odd term. I have never heard of that term.

The squeeling is simply vibrations and are not necessarily brakes failing.

I haven´t heard from that before, and you either... I think is a term inventend by spaniard mechanics, because while I was living in Venezuela, I never heard of that either... I wonder if it is a real thing! Let´s hope it is just the way they word things.

A relatively inexpensive thing to do, to help stop squeeling, and pedal-pulses, is to machine your rotors. If she can remove the rotors herself, then a machine shop would easily do it for $20.

There is also anti-squeeling compound (we have this at Canadian Tire) that you apply on the "back" side of the brake pads and where they touch the spindle.

Just Fyi....

Thank you Pongo! I'll let her know. But I don't think she'll do it, but instead have her husband do it... although I'm not sure if he is actually very much into mechanical stuff on the car, as much as he is into keeping it clean from the kids being in the car... I'll also tell him about this information, so maybe they can save some money doing it themselves. Thanks again
