When I entered the reg. number into the AA on line quote site the car came back as a 1.6 st no later than 82. The engine is stamped 2 litre but I was wrong about the body badges. They are transfers. However when I went to collect the car the silly idiot of a dealer pranged it down one side as he got it ready for me. Hence a full refund! So back to square one. Erm been looking at a Mazda 323, well at least it's got pop up lights.

PMSL Very few of those online things get the engine size or year of manufacture right, keep searching for an st162, you won't regret it. How much is the budget?

most likely valve stem oil seals, not unexpected on a car this age, not terribly expensive to fix though should mean head off although they can be replaced in situ.
