In August of last year I had the automatic transmission fluid flushed on my 2003 Corolla. Not just a drain and refill but the complete flush. This was at 96000Km. I took my vehicle in for the 112000Km maintenance service and they are once again telling me the transmission fluid is dirty and must be flushed again. So, according to the dealer, the fluid is dirty again after only 16000 Km and 7 months of driving, I must be an aggressive driver. Of course I drove it for close to 100000Km before its first fluid change, no change in my driving style or habits. Does this seem logical? Are these Corollas prone to dirty transmission fluid?

A drain and flush still leaves dirty fluid in the tranny. The only way I have seen to clean it all out is to do it fairly close together, same with engine oil.

On the other hand, a bad transmission could cause the described above as well. I would do it again and keep an eye on the transmission.

Good DIY tip. I guess Iwouldn't have thought of changing both close together as a solution. Makes perfect sense too!

Well I learned it the hard way. I actually learned it on my motorcycle. at $9 a quart of oil, you find a way to keep the engine clean...
