I have an 89 Celica Convertible. The motor to raise and lower the top is just about shot. It takes about 10 minutes to close. Is there a way to disable the motor and raise and lower the top manually?

I have a 93 Celica convertible and the owners manual there is a section that talks about access in the trunk should the motor fail. I will read through it this evening and send you the information.

If all else fails find teh manual at an autozone. It will tell you where and how to disconnect the motor. You can also look in the trunk, or, with the top open, look down the gap between the top and the seat, you should be able to pinpoint the motor's location.
