Hi all...first post here as I just got a 2009 Corolla S last week. So far so good, my only complaint is the extremely annoying seat belt buzzer and flashing light in the dashboard. The buzzing goes away after about 30 seconds but the flashing stays on the entire time. I realize this is a safety feature and the easy and smartest answer is, "Put your seat belt on and it will go away!". But the reality is I don't always wear my seatbelt and I don't want my car constantly chirping and flashing distracting lights in my face if I don't. The one in the middle for the passenger seat is just as bad. So, I would like to disable them. I looked it up in the manual and sure enough it says they can all be disabled but only by a Toyota dealer. Does anyone know if there's another way? For example I know on my Nissan alot of things could be configured with combinations of turning the key on/off, pressing the gas or brake pedal, etc. I have a call into my dealer to see if they will adjust these settings for me real quick, it's only been 5 days since I took delivery of the car but I still have a feeling they're going to hit me with a charge to do what will most likely take 2 minutes with their little hand held computer.

Well they disabled the beeping for free, took the guy about 30 seconds on the computer. Also had him turn off the chirping when I lock/unlock the car so now it just flashes quietly. They said there's no way to disable the flashing light but at least it will be quiet now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

Under the seat there is a wire with a white plug, pull it apart and the buzzing stops. The light on the dash will still flash but at least it's silent.Works on the drivers side as well.
Wish i could stop the ignition buzzer as easily. It's driving me insane!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps it worked in my Hilux.
