Recently purchased a Sienna XLE with all the bells and whistles but unfortunately it's missing one. The rear DVD entertainment system and my kids are bugging me to install one. There is a drop down console already mounted in the roof which has a little storage compartment and controls for the radio.

Does anyone know if this can be "tapped" into for mounting an aftermarket DVD player?

Thank you!

I was going to do the same thing when I purchased my 2005. Found a system on ebay and it had the instructions on line. I looked at them very closely and I seem to remember the headliner had to be pulled down and dash had to be removed. I got scared off.

We have the same vehicle.

Not the prettiest option, but we purchased a portable DVD player that straps to a head rest from walmart. We hung it from a rod installed into the pivot holes in the drop down console's storage compartment. (had to remove the drop down storage bin)

I spliced into a power wire in the harness above the console and soldered the appropriate connector to run the portable DVD player through it's AC/DC outlet.

Would love to have the full DVD system but didn't want to spend the $$ at the time we purchased. I spoke to the dealer about adding it and they suggested I go to a stereo shop to save some money.
