Speaking of the "eat my voltage" ad, I just want to say it's the sole reason I'm buying the Prius :-)

Even with my EE background, the EV stuff really wasn't on my radar screen, and I wasn't in the market for ANY car at all. One Sunday night, I saw this ad while reading Wired in bed. I hadn't even heard of the Prius then. I spent the next two hours researching it on the net and put in my purchase request on almost blind faith. I gave my dealer $500 deposit the next morning.

This is by far the most impulsive thing I've ever done in my life. I usually spent more time choosing shoes! I haven't figured out how to break it to my wife yet. Help!

I had basically the same reaction to the ad in Wired. I've been driving the same 1990 Subaru since I bought it new in 1989. It has 160k miles on it and I planned on another 150k miles at least. Then I saw a review of the Prius and the Honda in Architectural Digest of all places. A week later and I have an order in. My wife can't believe that I acutally saw a car that I wanted to drive more than the Subaru. I can't believe it either.

MJS

We need to a car that will hold all 5 of us plus our local relatives, so we're holding onto my wife's Suburban. I like the fact that the Prius will go farther on 11 gallons than the Suburban will go on 41.

I want the sticker.

The dealer removed the factory-applied sticker from my car. I'll take one any way I can get one.

Send email to gerald@... and we can work out the details.
