1993 Toy Landcruiser
240,000 miles
Runs strong
When stopping the vehicle after warm all electrical driven components drop way down. Lights DIMM and the radio goes down, blower fan slows. No rough idle 450-600 rpm at idle. Like I said runs great. This is the only thing that I cannot figure out. New alternator 2 years ago (maybe under-sized)? Tuned up 1 year ago. Also, I'ts been doing this for 8 years now that I think of it but never thought any thing of it until I rode in another and didn't see this happening.
Hanks for any feedback.

Any luck with an answer on this one? I've had the same problem with my Paseo since I got it (at 98,000 miles). The only difference seems to be that my car idles rough when the electrical components dim.

Nothing yet --- I've asked around locally and get anything from undersized alternator or bad voltage regulator but have not confirmed that yet. I guess the more I think about it the Landcruiser does run rough some of the time when the lights/components are dim? Guess we can keep hoping somone will bite out there and give an answer........My local Toyota Dealer wants $120.00 an hour to investigate!!

Good Luck and please share if you find out anything

Hey Derrick, my name is also Derrick.

Alright anyway, it sounds to me like your alternator is underpowered or the wrong type, either that or your battery is dieing. At idle the alternator can't make enough power to drive all these things so it is relaying on the battery some also. Does it crank OK?
