So in the past month or so, my '92 seems to be having some funky electrical issues. I went to start the truck about a month ago and it was completely dead (new battery 6 months ago, solid connections). I removed the key, took a deep breath and tried again and it started right up. But my clock was reset, lost my presets on the radio, etc. so it had been dead. I drive the truck every 3-4 days or so, so I'm not sure how long it may have been this way. A couple weeks later, the electronic locks were acting up. When I pressed the button on the keyfob to lock the doors, I would hear a noise, and the locks would quiver a little, but not lock (the locking button inside the truck did not work either). If I manually locked them, I was able to unlock them ok via remote. I was in Sonoma wine- tasting at the time, so I was constantly in/out of the truck. After a couple more stops, it worked fine again (was it the wine??? hehe. no). For the past 2 weeks, everything seems cool, but I feel like a problem is out there lurking, waiting to bite me in the arse. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have something very similar happen very infrequently. Seems tied to rain for me. Also, my speedo quit. But every now and again it comes back on. Anyone know a faulty place in the line to check for a false contact? Jay

This wouldn't happen to be the starter contact problem, would it? I had this problem on my 96. Changed out the contacts and haven't had a problem since.

I would recheck the battery terminals for a good connection. If the ends have been replaced with the bolt on terminals replace the cables so the ends are permanent. Corrosion can get into the cables with the bolt on type and cause problems. They were really meant to be a temporary repair but everyone uses them and I have seen plenty of problems with them.
