Sounds like you are really planning on an upgrade. Well I think it should fit as long as the timing belts protect your engine you shouldn't have any problem. You can always go with a smaller faster unit if it doesn't work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif)

Hello Alistair, I would say general serivice and changing small items on or around the block. eg. new thermostat new temprature sending unit new alternator new exhaust system and general servicing. I have had classes on motor vehicle engineering and know the basic insides of a multivavle engine. Plus i have wired up new a alarm system with immobiliser and installed high end market stereo equipment which involved cuting out of door cards and electrical works. I have stripped her insides out and once i changed the 4ws unit on the rear axel. really i have had my fingers in all the pies except the inside of the engine block and gear box. so what do you think? cheers GTI _DRIVER

the biggest thing i have done is remove suspension and replace with new suspension, also changed sporings and shocks. I have also changed components in the engine bay. and I have once assisted in chagenign the engine of my old fiat.

sounds like you're well able to do it especially if you've a couple of mates with an idea of what they're doing and a lot of patience.
