Hello to all! I have a quick question (at least, I hope it's an easy question). I have original "green formula" antifreeze that says it's for "All other models at 1989 or earlier". But it's the green antifreeze, so I figured it's okay to use since (I think) typically, my car uses green antifreeze. Should I use it, or should I take it back and get another kind? When I bought the car, it didn't have an owner's manual, so I don't know what to use. Can anyone help me? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

I think green is ok. But personally, I only use toyota red. I have always used it, and never had radiator trouble of any kind until 400k. I can't say if it was due to the red, but I do know the red is highly regarded as extremely good, and did well in a variety of tests. And, it passed mine.

Toyota Red is over priced and unnecessary. A decent 50/50 mix of glycol ether based antifreeze with distilled water is a perfect solution. NOTE the emphasis here is on distilled water. It is mineral deposition from hard water that will kill your cooling system, not the choice of coolant.
