My 97 Tacoma 2.7 cuts out for a second while I'm on the highway doing 45 to 65 mph. Its like the motor isn't getting enough gas or the spark plugs aren't getting fire. Anyone know what the problem could be? My Tacoma has 136,000 miles on it.

It could be either of those. Keeping up on your fuel filter is always good. And if the plugs are old replace them. You should also check that your wires are not damaged or have come loose. A typically overlooked item is the O2 sensor. Any of these items can give you the feeling that the engine is cutting out or losing power. There are many more reasons why it can happen, but check these first.

i'm having the same problem. my 98 corolla cuts out while driving on streets.
while i'm driving at like 25 - 35mph, it suddenly dies after like 1 or 2 minutes.
my mechanic can't figure the problem, though the problem is consistant.

please report back your findings/cure so far.

i'm wasting my car rental fees, going into the 4th day!!!!
