The engine of my '95 LS400 Mark III has a very fast idle speed (in excess of 1400 rpm) when started from cold. It takes a few minutes to fall to a more manageable 700 rpm, but prior to that, selecting D or R from N is not smooth. Some people appear to think this is normal, others I've heard from say not. I'm trying to get as many views as possible to get a clearer picture. Please respond with your own experience. Thank you.
