I'd rather replace my engine then pay for the repair work of my blown valve. I can replace the whole engine with new head gasket installment
for the same price of paying for the repair work to my existing engine. So, I'm wondering if there may be a good fit for a
diesel engine for this truck that a skilled mechanic could be able to install, getting past the computer problems and all that. Any suggestions for a
good diesel engine replacement fit?

I know nothing in the US that will bolt up to the existing tranny. Toyota makes lot of Diesels in every other place but the US.
You can get a used import motor with low miles for about 1k if you just want to replace what you have.

The VW 1.8 TDI has been swapped into Toy trucks fairly often, but it takes quite a bit of work.

Any good places to look for these import motors?
