I was thinking of an engine swap from a toyota starlit a 3S-GTE 2.0L I've seen some people on cardomain.com with this engine on their '93 tercels but if anyone knows would it fit in a '93 tercel would i need to weld new engine mounts or anything?

hey so your saying the 4A-GE engine can fit in my car w/o changing much of anything? can you tell me about this engine :D And can u tell me exactly what kind of car it comes off of because if its an easy bolt on i would definately keep this in mind when I buy an engine before june :D

I'm not sure if it will bolt right up.... but there are several variations of this engine, it comes in the 85-89 toyota mr2's and the same era carolla gts, as well as several toyotas from over seas, they can be bought fairly cheap and are very depndable but not as good on gas though they do get about thiry mpg, a stock 16 valve 4age will give you about 115 hp, a stock 4agze the supercahrged model will give you 145hp, a stock 20 valve 4age will give you 165hp, or if you really wanna smoke your tires then the 3sgte with 220 hp stock is the most powerful option as those will easilly upgrade to over 300hp, but its alot of custome work


16 valve 4age == 115 hp and about 600$
20 valve 4age== 165 hp and about 1200$
4agze =======145hp or with upgraded sc pulley 180hp=950$=1200$
3sgte========220 hp stock and about 1800 dollars

Does the '93 Tercel have the same engine as my '93 Paseo? My 16-valve 1.5 5E-FE runs really well. Have you considered modifying that instead of a complicated engine swap [and possible electrical nightmares]?
