my hiace 95 engine is getting real tired. im looking to replace with something more powerful. any ideas?

You should go to some local auto parts shops near you... and ask and search online on like some site like ebay they might have someone with that on there... you never know.

yea,you are in the right place for engine swaps.
check with some knowledgeable mechanic. I think there are lots of more powerful diesels in various toyota products.(assuming you are running diesel now) the trick is to find an engine which will fit into the space without modifications.
You didn't indicate how many km on your engine, diesel or gas,turbo or no. any onre of those combinations could make it easier (and cheaper) to fix.

hey iam in the process of putting in a 1jz vvt-i in a 1999 hiace grand cabin there are a few with that engine conversion in jamaica pritty fast too

these 1jz engine has 200 hp over the 140 the 1kz 3 liter has check 1jz .com

You don't say whether your Hiace is petrol or diesel.

If it is petrol then there are plenty of options, including the 1JZ / 2JZ that have been mentioned.

If it is diesel then I'd forget about it and buy a later model van with the 1KZ-TE engine. Turbocharged and 3 litres of grunt - these engines haul!
