Anyone have access to Ethanol fuel? We don't have it where I live, but I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that actually uses it, and does it make a difference? I would love any info...prices/gas mileage/etc... is it worth it?

I dont use it personally, but I do know that its more expensive than gasoline and you dont get as many miles per gallon out of it.
A lot of gas stations around here have signs in the window that says, "100% gasoline" because people have the perception that having a gas with a 10% ethanol blend reduces fuel economy. Ive personally never seen a difference either way and anything that reduces our dependence of Mid East oil is a good thing, IMO.
I dont think Ive ever seen an E-85 pump around here yet.

I agree we need to move away from using that foreign oil. Not to mention the benefit to farmers in the US growing all that corn...
Hate knowing that it's not good for gas mileage, though. I was really hoping. Then again, like I said, we don't even have access to it in my area of the country yet.

Someone told me that to use ethanol, you need to purchase some converter for your car. Does anyone know anytihng about this? I am highly interested, movtivated as we all are by current fuel prices.

I thought there was a certain amount of ethanol already in the gas in a lot of places. I don't think you need a converter to use it.

From what I have seen if you use pure ethanol you have to replace various hoses because the ethanol eats them up.

Not sure why you would use a bio fuel if its use drives up the cost of food and it produces the carbon dioxide at gasoline?
