I have a '99 Tacoma that had a check engine light because of a bad gas cap. I replaced the gas cap and cleared the codes. The check engine light does not come on, but the truck will not run the evap test. I have done the drive-idle-drive-idle routine several times, but the scope keeps saying that the evap test is not complete. In Arizona, they won't pass emissions unless all the test checks have run. Does anyone know if there is a trick to getting it to run the test? Also, what is the correct test for the for the evap system? The one I found was, warm the engine up, drive 3 to 5 min at 43 to 56 mph, stop and let idle for 3 to 5 min, then repeat. Do not exceed 30 percent throttle.
