Hi all,

I have a Hiace van with a 3-L, NA. I use it for my touring theatre company. I got the exhaust back of the 18" front pipe replaced with 2.5", and a high-flow muffler. The exhaust guy at ABC muffler figured I shouldn't do the front pipe, as it is only 18" and would be $250. He figured it would only help by 2-3%

Then I took it to this guy Len at Automotion who does a lot of deisels, dragsters and rhd stuff, and he said it was bogus to leave the front pipe at 2", that I wouldn't get any of the gain from the larger exhaust that way. They both seemed rather confident in their opinions, and very experienced. Any opinions? If it helps by even 5% I figure it's worth it.
