I have recently brought in a 1992 Prado form Japan. I would like to have a set of factory shop manuals for it. Can they be ordered from the dealer or is there another place to buy them? Help! Seems like there might be some danger of cracking heads due to overheating?

If the engine is a 2LT or a 2LTE then yes they do have a problem with the heads, it's not a major problem to repair and once done the truck will be bullet proof.
Have a look here for more info. http://www.toyotadiesel.com/forums/

You guys are probably tired of hearing this but once again I reply "eBay"! I just done a search and they didn't have any for older than a 1996, but if you do a search, you can request that it be put in your favorites and they will send you a message when knew ones are added!

Thanks for the replys everyone, the truck runs great! Why would the head be great after I fix it? Would not the new head have the same trouble? I tried that forum, and could not seem to locate anything on it. The download site did not seem to have Prado nauals.

Any new heads are a re-design, Toyota had problems with weak water ways on the old ones, you should find an engine manual on that site.

Thanks for the link! I'm an old Toyota fan but have toyed mainly with their twincam engines. I now use a Hiace for my daily driver and I've fallen in love with it for its toughness and reliability. Weekends are with a 4AGd KP61.

Hi guys. Am new and allow me to say am proud of being part of this forum.
I need to confirm allegations i have got about Landcruiser Prado. I recently (yesterday) purchased a 1993 2.5 SE Prado but am told these vehicles have a heating problem. Anyone know about this?
Second Question, what is the major difference between an EX and SE Prado of the same year, same engine capacity?
