I have a 2004 corolla w/ 60K. We just replaced the alternator and battery but after a couple of days I notice the battery light was on. It is extremely faint, only visible at night unless you are really trying. The light fades when idling and get stronger during acceleration but still very faint.

I had the battery and alt checked at the auto parts store. 100% charged and running 14.08 V. The car guy also said it was pulling normal amps.

I am not too car knowledgeable so if there is anymore info needed let me know.

Thank you

Hello,

This issue is actually caused almost 100% of the time by a loose wire, and usually the ground.

Just check the plugs on your alternator and make sure they're plugged in all the way, and also check the Ground wire (usually a black wire) and make sure that is also secure.

There are on some vehicles a ground from the alternator to the Engine block as well, make sure that is tightened up as well, more in likely when installed it could have been "tugged" a little bit, causing it to become lose. Then check the cables on the battery itself, the connections to the battery as well as the black (ground) wire that goes down to the engine block. That should solve your problem. :)
