Hello, The Nashville meeting was a little smaller than planned at just 7 cars, but fun. I got to meet several new people and got a bunch of input on what type of events the group would like to do. Racing came up several times as we talked about the SE Meet. Soooo I looked at the SCCA site for TN and they have an event Feb 17th at the Nashville Speedway. The event was listed as being a teaching session and I'm not totaly sure what that means yet. I've e-mailed the events director for the specifics. How many are interested in doing this for a meet in Feb? It's the 17th, so it's on a Sunday. Those who have not raced or those like me who ...um..suck.. might find the event of great interest. Next, we talked about an weekend trip to Deals Gap, so we can run the Dragon! The only question is when to do it. The Se Meet is May and that strikes that. March is a possibility, but it may still be crappy weather. Any help with dates would be of great help. Thanks, Dale Adkins

Deals Gap is the stretch of HWY 129 that is referred to as "The Dragon" If I remember correctly it is 318 curves in 11 miles. Go to www.tailofthedragon.com or www.dealsgap.com for more info. I have been through there several times on my F4i, but never in a car. If you do go in your car just expect bikes to be on your tail, or passing you in some unlikely places. There are some excellent riders there on any given weekend. As a side note. My wife is a nurse and during the peak months (when the weather is nice) LIFESTAR medivac helicopter is there at least once a week picking up someone who has tried to drive or ride beyond their capabilities. Don't get me wrong, it is a blast, but remember "The Dragon" has teeth.

It's the killer stretch of road know as the Dragon. It's in the mountains, full or curves, and has a fairly high speedlimit for the type of road it is. If you visit www.atlantamr2s.com they have a link and info about the area. I'll get info added to our site soon. Dale
