I was with my nephews driving, and finally I saw the RAV4 that looked just like the one I had. My nephews are 5 and 6, and they are very much into cars. But until today I wasn´t able to show them the 1997 RAV4 that I used to drive. The other models we saw were newer, so they actually haven´t seen it. The funny thing is that the little one asked me: Are you sad? When I told him that I missed my car very much, he offered to buy me one just like that one when he grows up and works as a police officer... That made me laugh! Have you had a special love for one of your cars? Or is it just a female thing? I´d like to know!

Your nephews are adorable! I definitely have a thing for my 1975 Ford Pinto. I won't let it go even though I don't drive it--the carseat doesn't fit very well in it! I still have fun starting it once and a while, just to keep it running well. And it runs great with over 85,000 ORIGINAL miles on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

Wouldn't you like to have your 1975 Ford Pinto "Pimped"? Sometimes here in Berlin I watch MTV and they have this show, Pimp my Ride... the buckets they get and the way they convert them in incredibly looking cars, makes me think I wish I was young and could get my car pimped! (The age limit for people to participate is 25 years old, assuming that older people have better cars or they can pimp them up themselves)

I probably would! My little Pinto would look so cool. That's a bit strange on the age limit....I'm 31. I guess can understand why they would assume older people would have the resources to fix up their cars. My husband is still working his way up, he's an electrician. He makes enough money to allow me to stay home with the kids (I homeschool) but not quite enough to fix up my Pinto. However, it is on the list of things to do........ Maybe you can get the kids interested in mechanics and have the Pinto as a project to fix!!! My neighbors accross the street from when I was a kid, were a family of 5 boys, from 12 to 18... their father broght a beat up old thing, I think it was a Renault 5, and the kids were working on the car every weekend, all of them. It was like the family project, more trial and error than anything else I think, and I'm sure they can do anything to a car with that experience! And congratulations on your homeschooling... I admire that!

Hey, that's a great idea! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif) I could even incorporate into his schooling....auto shop! I took auto shop in high school, I'm sure what I don't know about mechanics, I could find in a book. Or ask my husband, or Pongo! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

I love mine every time the thing starts. I drive nine states in the thing. I can only get stranded once, and the second time.......well, that will just be the last.

Probably my 88 corolla was my favorite. I drove it like a racecar, and kept up with me. I drove it crosscountry twice, from NC to Cali, and never gave me trouble.

Oh, I've had favorite cars. Probably my most favorite was a '52 Series I Land Rover. It was so basic
that I learned how to do most work on it so it was a good learning experience as well as a great ride!
