Well, I thought I'd find a Toyota Forum to find an avenue to help me learn to love my 2008 Sienna. I bought a brand new 2008 Sienna XLE. The more I'm in the vehicle the less I like it. I'm thoroughly unimpressed by the DVD Nav system. The Voice command system is lame. My wife's Infinity's Voice Command is fully functional in any mode ( phone, nav., radio/CD). The Toyota Nav system wasn't really meant to have a Bluetooth phone compatibility, otherwise from any mode you could say "dial" and bingo! cell phone. No topology diagram in the 200+ page manual. The rear DVD player is not integrated with the cabin audio system so no headphones, no show. There's no separate rear sound system. I'm not sure where the temperature sensor is located for the auto-temperature control. I will say if it's an RTD or Thermocouple it's nowhere near where the driver is sitting. after being frozen on my way home I used my Thermocouple based temperature probe. The seat at my shoulder was 50degF. The temperature control was set at 71degF. The passenger's seat is only a 4way adjustable seat. There is no height adjustment. when I went to the dealership ( Beck Toyota, Indianapolis,IN ) I was poo-pooed. Now for the good portion. It's quiet, comfortable, handles like any other minivan with the exception of the 2009 Honda Oddysey ( great handling, funky Active Cylinder Management ...cylinder shutdown design ). The 2008 Sienna needs about 30+ more HP, tighter suspension, a top end audio system that is in no way integrated with a Nav system and a Nav system that is totally intuitive. This is my first and last Toyota. I pick up my new Tribeca tomorrow. The Toyota hype is just that hype.
