Hey guys I have a 1986 Toyota pickup. I took off the bed and made a metal flat bed. I took off the original tail lights off and now have four lights in the rear bumper to control the light system. Two lights control brake/running lights the other two lights control the turn signals. Im have problems with my flashers. When I put the right or left turn signal on they flash very quickly. When I put my hazards on they flash at normal speed? All lights work and the grounds are fine. Any one have any Ideas on with it could be? Im also in the process of getting a new flasher. The only other thing I can think of is on the old tail light assembly there was a circuit board that some of the wires ran to. Could the problem be that I don't have this "circuit board" hooked up? Any help would be appreciated thanks Kyle

I'm not an electronic expert by any stretch....but to me when the signals flash faster than normal this is usually an indication of a short somewhere.

Please confirm that both the "front" and rear are flashing as fast as the indicator is. Usually the actual turning light does not flash, only the interior indicator when there is a short.

If your lights do in fact flash outside, then my "guess" would be that you have a change in resistivity. Did you use the same guage of wire when you ran the new stuff ?
