To those who have added aftermarket 17" or 18" rims up front, what offset did u use? Would it be possible to use a 9" wide rim?? I know the stock offset is 50mm but not sure if 8.5" or 9" wide would work with this offset. Thanks!!

Jeff H
1998 GS400

I would stagger my wheels. I have 17x8.5 in the front, and 17x9 in the back (since it is rear wheel drive, and you want most of your rubber in the back). Pros - Your car has more grip, and has a more aggressive look, and it handles better. Cons - you can't rotate your tires from front to back. Also if you ever think of upgrading to Supra TT 4 caliper front brakes, then you want to get a Supra offset in the front. The Supra TT front brakes are a direct bolt on replace of the GS400 front brakes but you need at least a 17" rims (and that is cutting it close, I would only do it with 18" and up), but your stopping distance increases by 45%. I get my car back from SRT this week, and will post before and after pics of all my mods.

Lee

That is an impressive improvement in braking performance. Could you provide the befor and after stopping distances?
