gday. toyota don't seem keen on giving this information out but i am after the approximate miles/gallon usage for 2.7 and 3.4 petrol 4wd hilux as well as 3l turbo diesel. also, how do these engines perform? i'm looking at upgrading my 2.4 petrol 4wd with a later model within my price range so any help greatly appreciated.

I have just bought the Hilux 2.7l Petrol 4x2 Double cab. Most of the road tests / literature I have managed to gather indicate a fuel consumption of 11-12 l/100km. I have had mine for 3wks and at best have managed 12.7l/100km. I average around 13.7l/100km.

What kind of consumption are others getting?

This is the first Hilux I have owned and have just made the transition from a car - my driving still obviously needs to be adapted to suit and get the much sought after 11-12l/100km! Any tips would be welcome on bringing this consumption in with the quoted figures.
