Just got my fj today and I only have about 5-6 inches of clearance from the roof rack to the garage.I knew it would be bad but didnt think it would be that bad. I plan on putting a 3 inch lift on it soon and I want to make sure it fits in my garage first! I live in a townhouse with a decent size one car garage. I really want to lift it but dont want my baby to sleep outside at night!!! Thanks in advance guys and Fj's freaking rule, I feel like Im driving a hummer minus the bad looks from gas conscious people! LOL

The FJ is nicer than the Hummer anyway if you don't need all the bells and whistles inside. It's still a truck and wouldn't mind living outside if need be to add the features you want.

Well it seems you have a dilemma...either lift it or let it be parked inside. the fj cruiser was built to be in a heavy terrain, so parking it outside shouldnt be such a problem (if you decide to lift it that is).

Already got a few scratches on my roof rack after going into a couple of underground parkings in LA downtown area. 3 inches below my home garage, have to pause for a few second everytime to make sure garage door won't drop back at all before entering.
