Hey guys,

New here and have a little problem with my 02 Tacoma, 50k miles. Everytime I get gas the flow comes back and shuts the tank off like it's full, but it is not. I have to barely hold the lever and let the gas go down slow to fill up. Anybody have any suggestions of what the problem could be and what I need to do. Thanks

From my experience in a differnt automobile. It only happened at certain gas stations. the bend in the pump was weird, we tried to fill up at one gas station and had a miserable time, so went to another after 4 dollars of gas was pumped and had much better results. was my freinds punchbug..

Thank you for your comments. We fixed the problem, it was a hose.

I just fixed my granddaughter's this afternoon based on what I learned elsewhere. A 5 minute fix!!!

Behind the gas tank there is a box with several hoses coming out of it. One short hose (about 6 inches long) goes from the box into the frame where the axle would be. Use a flat head screwdriver to take this off and clean out the spider's nests. Put it back on and PRESTO!

Thank you for your comments. We fixed the problem, it was a hose that connects to the air filter.
Have a good day.

Hi,

Check the box where the air filter goes and check any hose connected to it. make sure they are straight and not bended.

start pumping your gas with the key on, but the engine NOT running. After it pumps for a bit turn your key back off.
