Hi Guys, I bought my first 4x tacoma 5sd V6 Extra cab. It's a 96' 31x10.5s on toyota stock rims. What should I exspect for gas millage?? I read in here all the time about the 4 cyl. 5 sd getting 21-26 I know the V6 is much less, but I love the power it has when you need it! I'm sure glad I bought Toyota, Before that I had a Dodge Dakota which was good too , but you would never expect to get the longevity or depenability out of them. I had a 89 Dakota Sport 4x with very little problems, but hear buddies that have bought NEW and have nothing but problems! Thanks guys, Jeff

Jeff, I've got a '99 with an automatic and average about 17.5, much of my driving being highway. I would think that if the engine is in good tune, you should get better than that. Chris

I have a 98 SR5 xtra cab 4x4 v6 w/ 5speed, I also use to own a 4 banger with an auto. They get the same gas mileage. Dont let people BS you with the 20+ mpg. They get about 18-maybe 21. But you dont buy the best truck in the world because you want to save gas. You buy it because you want the most relieable truck made today. My Yota can go almost anywhere with no lift and 31x10.5x15s. It already has 11" of clearance so you really don't need much more. They are safe and fun to drive. Enough said.
