i have a 1984 FJ60 and all of a sudden the damn gas pedal is sticking when i rev it. right as i let off the gas to shift the damn thing stays stuck down and then i have to give it a little tappy tappy to get it unstuck before shifting. it's really irritating not to mention a bit dangerous. any thoughts on the fix? i sprayed the linkages that are directly attached to the pedal in the pedal well with WD40 but that didn't help at all. it must be something internal but how does one get to the inner workings and linkages of the gas pedal? how much of a project is it to investigate? any help is greatly appreciated. sam feel free to email me off list at: sambking@...

You might want to check if the return spring is still there first. Then if it is take it off and see where the linkage is binding. It could be either the linkage from the pedal to the carb or maybe in the carb itself. There is a small clip that holds it together you should take it apart and grease the parts then try again. It's a pretty simple setup. Good luck and please let me know if I can help further. Mark
