Hi all,
I have had my Corolla 2003 (used car) for 2ys. now-Ever since I got it it has this gas smell when the car is first started. It dissipates after a few minutes.
I have read all the bad post about the transmissons of 03 cars-mine is the reg. not stick shift.
I haven't had THAT looked at yet-I did just have an oil chane at a dealership-and its still there, the smell-
I didn't mention it as I just came in for a quick change beore the holiday.

My fear is - I had a Dodge Neon before that had the same problem and its transmission was SHOT-
Could this possibly be a transmission problem?
I had to trash the other car as it had that plus other problems.

I notice surges when driving up or down hills too-like the car kicks in gear-didn't know if that is normal.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
:)
thanks
