If any of you think that George Bush has any concern for environmental issues I invite you to come here to Texas and breath the air in any major city or visit the coast down around Houston.
DEC

I know what you mean... Houston surpassed Los Angeles as the smoggiest city in the US last year. My wife's from there and it's gotten pretty bad over the last few years.

Funny how both sides blame the other, but no one cares enough to work on a solution.

you are correct, the Lt. Gov. this one of the most powerfull people in Texas Gov. What we need is to make it easier (cost refunds) for people to want to buy a hybrid cars like the Prius and not those BIG gas users... SUV. Take some the money we get from the Feds to clean up the air, apply it to refunds... say a $5,000 rebate... now I think this should be paid out over 5 years... So the person can not buy, get refund, sell car, make profit..

We have a fairly good laws on the books for clean air (not as good a CA), but we grandfather'ed too many big bussiness, when we should have held their feet to the fire.... that is not the GOV fault... this falls on our state Leg.

And while on the subject of CA.... what happend to the "Must have 10% of the cars sold be total ELECT"... If I remember that deadline was comming up soon..

So what we need to do is make it more attractive to own a hybrid... until fuel cell is main stream.. or the Solar Cell to prefected... I think we are up to 10%... need to find a way to get 75%+ production... then we have something...

(sorry for any miss-spelling in adv.)
