i have a 2001 celica gt. and i am wondering should i just sell mine and try to find a gts or should i just start changing out parts. i am not going to do much racing but i would like the car to be kind of face. just so i dont get left behind at red lights. you know?

The GT-S, even the late '90s ones werent really that fast for stoplight to stoplight.
They have more peak horsepower, but you need the keep the engine near redline to tap into that power (because its a VVTL-i engine: variable valve timing with lift).
Id swap parts to make your car faster before I traded up to a newer Celica.

You have a Celica GT huh? I always had a soft spot for those. I would say you should keep it! Good luck to you!

easiest modification anyone can do to gain speed is weight reduction. Take out your backseats (if you don't use them)

take out the air conditioning parts in the engine bay.

it really depends on what you're goals and budget are for this. there really is no cookie cutter answer to this question. Although I will advise you that your first modification should be an aftermarket intake. Aside from a turbo kit, intakes have shown to add the best dollar to hp results in the 7th gen Celica.
