G'day all, I still get the wobbles at 80kms after a front wheel balance. The tyres are new and been check for bubbles. The CV joint has a slight leak (would this even effect it) but all else is good. Has anyone got any suggestions to what it may be?? Cheers sjr

i yet have my '75 lc wagon---it has a transfer case, allowing rear-wheel drive---is yours set-up as 4X4 only? i don't know the newer ones---don't want to. if it's a transfer-case critter, get to 2-wheel drive---see if that solves it---if not? at least you'll know it's the front. i've never had a front-wheel drive vehichle 'wobble', even w/clicking cvc joints. doesn't mean 'rest-easy', mate---you may have a bad wheel bearing (you should hear it), or a bent front drive-axle---doubt you'd hear that---i've owned the 4X4 '84 Tercel also---and hit a rock off road that did ding the passenger-side drive axle, leading to 'wobble' and cvc boot leakage---if you've 'hit' something hard you couldn't clear? i'd look a the front axle that leaks---check for scrapes, dings, etc.
this may seem basic---but also make sure all lug-nuts are tight, or you didn't simply bend a tire rim--and definately cross your fingers. g'day mate, and enjoy it 'down-under'

Sounds like you may need to have your axle checked out. Never know what it could be. I've had that happen just from bad tires though... have you tried new tires yet?

Another thing, luckier than axle, is a bad tie-rod---on '89 camrys this has a rubber bushing---that goes? wheel wobbles. you may only need it re-bushed, certainly stay below 'wobble-kliks' 'till ya find out---should avoid further tie-rod damage---more$$$---

and i may not stress this vet's advice on Anyone touching your vehicle---You said you just had new tires---did wobble happen soon after? check those lug nuts, tire pressure. and that tie-rod---and as for trusting USA mechanics? i and kids would be smushed years ago---that bad here---BC/Yukon? i met the 1st of few honest folk i've seen. i truly wish you will use this forum, any others, and Learn your car---matter of life and death---who do you trust?
