Ok, so I have been driving for 50 years, so got that down. Am enjoying my little Toyota.

But just got an iPod and can get it to play in the car. But it won't show any song information. I don't understand about the folders, there are no folders on my iPod, just albums.

When I click on the arrow up or down, it does not change the song or album.

If anyone has the time, I could use some tips here. Thank you.

Hi Granny,

I do not have a Rav4, but I have recently test-driven a few. I believe the folder button on the radio that you're referring to is for CDs that have MP3 files on them. If you have your music organized by folders on the CD, then the folder button allows you to navigate in the different folders.

I do not think this has anything to do with an ipod. If I remember correctly, the Rav4 just has an audio input jack inside the console. This only carries the audio from your ipod to the radio. I don't believe there is a way (with the factory radio) to control your ipod from the buttons on the radio. I think you have to still use the buttons on your ipod to play/control the music.

Hopefully that helps.

Hey Granny,

I just got a Rav4 and I hate to tell you that you are not able to get the songs to display on the dash through the stock setup.

An Ipod plugs into an "Aux IN" inside the center console, which means you can only "hear" whatever you are playing because it plugs into the "Audio out" or the top of the Ipod where the headphones usually go.

The only way you can get an Ipod to interface with the display on the stereo is by installing a device that plugs into the bottom of the Ipod and then plugs into the back of the radio.

You have to get this professionally installed and it will probably void the warranty on the stereo if the dealer doesn't install it.
I am not even sure if the stereo on the Rav4 can accept something like this, but when I pick mine up tomorrow I will ask.
