[size=4]ok---even my new 280se started pulling that deal---this is your call, but if you wish to forget about head-gasket probs, go to auto-stoned, whatever, find the little cheap bottle of sodium silicate with copper---drain any modern coolant, flush the cooling system, pour it in and Don't follow the bottle's instructions---leave it in, top it with H2O, then do what racers do, run water + water pump/anti-corrosive/lubricant. this used to be an old trick pulled by your classic scammy used-car dealers, to hide a blown gasket. But Now, near all 'Factory Coolants' have a bit of this in their branded anti-freeze. Why?
to stop small leaks before it's a warranty prob, for them---fyi, i worked with BF Goodrich chemist on a 'block/head sealer' a bit---that's where i learned of most coolants---they are so slippery, if they find a path, some more than others? blown gasket. gee, thanks. that's why new factory ones have a bit of NaSi in them---if you're not in a hard-freeze place, this really works---Also, you may be unaware of the 'hidden' head-gasket warranty---my 4th daughter's boyfriend had one of them blow at 156K miles---the dealer wanted $2k+---until I found the 'hidden' head-gasket data---faced w/this? the dealer replaced the entire engine---N0 CHARGE! nice dealer? No---it would have cost him more, otherwise---too few know of Toyota's extensive 'hidden warranties'---they're there---
