$1500??? for a WHAT?? headpipe? What is a headpipe?? anyone here know?? Do you mean the DOWNPIPE??? Or do you mean the catalytic converter? or the exhaust? or the head block?? well, head block I could see, but if it is broken I doubt it would only cost $1500...

I think you can buy one aftermarket for like $750...if it is the DP, or cat-back...damn, glad I don't live near that Toyota dealer...

Goto a sports store and ask about the DP, I don't think EVEN they would charge that much themselves for installing it and putting in a new one...

Well, if you don't know where the downpipe is, don't bother fixing it yourself, you might do more damage than good, and end up buying a new cat-converter, exhaust...etc...

but never heard of the headpipe...did the toyota dealer say it was underneath or in the engine compartment?

actually the part that needed replacement was the downpipe. it cost between $269-$319 at lightningmotorsports. here's the link:

http://www.lightningmotorsports.com/index1.htm

do not buy the downpipe at your local toyota dealer, because it's going to cost you around $900, which is a major rip-off.
