Hello All, Its me again! Still tinkering away on my Toyota Celica ST183 jap import. This time the problem i have is my heater is NOT working. Initial symptoms were when the heater was blowing out hot air it would after a short period of time suddenly start to blow out cooler air. I had to tunt the heater knob up to get warm air out again. Now the hot air does not come out at all. I believe it has something to do with the 'gate' which opens to let the hot engine coolant into the inside of the car. Either the gate its self is sodded or the controls at the head r not gettign the signal to the gate to open. How can i check? and can someone confirm where the gate is.. it bloody freexzing now and i wonder if i can manually open the gate to let the warm air in the compartment any ideas many thanks GTI DRIVER

I think marty had this problem with his and cured it by disconnecting the 2 heater hoses at the bulkhead and flushing the heating system with a hose pipe to clear all the sludge out of the heater matrix.
