I put my key in the ignition and I can turn the key enough to make the steering wheel unlock - however, I can not get it to turn any further than that. This happened a few weeks ago and eventually it turned after I left it alone for a little while - but it's not working this time.

Get yourself a spray can of "Lock-ease". Use theplastic spray tube inserted into the keyway, holding the keyway 'flap' open if it has one so as not to get the plastic tube stuck in the cylinder. Give it a good lube including spraying the key. Work it back and forth without forcing. Then try to turn it to start.

You can remove the lock yourself and take it to a locksmith. Turn the key to ACC, assuming you can get it that far, and push in the little button under the lock, then pull the key out taking the lock with it. This will require removing all the plastic under the keyswitch.
