I picked up my Prius about 24 days ago and put about 1650 miles on it. i love this car. i think i am getting about 50 mpg. i know about the bladder and i am still getting info on it. i have already made some modifications to the car. i switched out the original Chassis Stiffening Plate with a BT Tech Chassis Stiffening Plate. well wurth the money. i do a lot of highway driving and don't like it when the car sways when a truck blows by. this really helped. the other item i added was the chip to auto lock the doors when it gets to 15 mph. i have kids and this is a great feature. the other item i added was a lockpick and dvd player so teh kids can watch a movis on the front nav screen. i am having so much fun in this car. my son is a trekkie and he compares my car to the Delta Flyer on Voyager...LOLOL. i would like to hear from any of you and if anyone modified their car.

Are you really getting 50 mpg? If so that is great, I have been reading some articles about priuses and the car not getting that good of mileage.

Yes, I am gettign 50 mpg. this is average. some weeks I get 48 and others 50+. My neighbor says he gets in hte 60 with his 04 model. i guess mine is note broken in enough to get higher MPG. no matter what, it is all in how you drive it. i tried driving the way i normally do and still go about 45. i then ried to drive with the tips on here and it went up. since it is note broken in i hope to do better.

I for one, don't believe anybody can average 50 miles/gallon unless they drive downhill all the time! I have a 2005 Prius and drive very carefully and average about 45MPG. I know many other owners and NOBODY averages 50MPG. The 60MPG number is just imagination.

We have 2200 miles on our 2008 Prius and get a steady 51 mpg from day one. Mostly highway driving.
