Hi people ive gotta large issue with a 2LT Hiace engine which i have fitted in my 94 plate twin cab Hilux pick-up.
After the initial fitting i started her up and discovered an oil leak, i traced this back to a small outlet on the engine block juet behind and below the injector pump next to the dipstick tube.
The outlet has an egg shaped meeting face with a hole approx 15mm with a slanted edge going into the engine and juet below this is a threaded 6mm bolt hole.
Ive found out that this type of block was used in the hiace van on the 2LT engine around 94-5,Has anyone got a hiace van with a 2lt engine that could tell me what goes in there please.
Everybody ive spoken too cant help and toyota are a bit useless realy...
Can anyone tell me what this hole is for ?? cos ime a bit stumped now.
Many thanks
G Cameron

Ok, just a follow up for those that may be wondering...

We have identified the hole and it is in fact where the crank angle position sensor goes on the EFI model.

Solved!
